The cave of Simanya is located est of Montcau peak, at 900 m altitude. It is one of the most convenient and visited cave amongst the 163 cavities that are reported in the area of Sant Llorenç del Munt i l’Obac. It’s the longest one in the area with 372 m length. The cave of Simanya, as well as others at same altitude, all are relics from former stages of erosion, when the massif still hasn’t been so in depth cut by the hydrologic net. Nowadays the level of main waters spring is much low, in the range between 350 and 450 m, near to Mura and Rellinars villages.
