Anticline of Santa Maria d’Oló

Leaning layers of the geological formation Artés in the south side of the anticline-fault of Santa Maria d’Oló. The displayed south block sliped over the north block. Following the layers, small foldings are seen in the left of the picture.

The stream Oló flows through the centerfold. As a result, the center of the anticline is beautifully displayed in the Folds of mountain Borina. Near to the stream and to the village, there is a salty water spring which has to be related to the raised near to the surface salt of the geological formation Cardona in the center of the anticline.
