Subterranean lake in Cardona

Salt lake below the Minilla, the visitable for tourism gallery into de mountain of Salt of Cardona. This salt lake was originated roughly in year 2000, when also there were sudden collapses in the lowest area of the Saline valley and in the river Cardener basin.

The mining activity in the area, specifically the low deep galleries of the new mine for common salt exploitation in which water came in almost since its beggining, the abandon of the equipments of the old potassium mine Nieves and the historical block of the valley by the dumpfill, contributed to that water flowed subway through the salt.
