On Saturday, January 24, 2026, the front associated with the storm Ingrid left snow in the highlands of Central Catalonia. The snow level was around 400 meters in the west, 500 meters in the east, and 700 meters in the south. The snow whitened the complete district of Moianès and, in the district of Bages, the area of Cardona, the ranges of Castelltallat and L’Obac and their environments, and the massif of Montserrat above BP-1103 road from Can Massana to the Monastery.
After the global warming, snowfalls are not common anymore in the winters of the 21st century in the Bages and Moianès districts, neither in their higher altitude areas. Therefore, the snowfall of 24.01.2026 has been a pleasant meteorological event, despite the mobility difficulties that it causes.
